TEAM 1044 PRO:

A natural athlete, McGuffin grew up in Lake Chelan, Washington, in a family that was into wrestling in a huge way, as his father was a high school
wrestling coach. While wrestling was his main sport growing up, he found tennis at a later age and took up the game competitively at the junior college
level after passing up on a wrestling scholarship. While continuing to play competitively, McGuffin eventually became a tennis instructor, before being
introduced to the sport of Pickleball at a local YMCA. While initially struggling with the fast-paced game, he eventually parlayed his tennis skills into
becoming a competitive player. While new to the sport, McGuffin turned turned pro within 6 months of playing, and his success was immediate as he was
able to take bronze at TOC and silver at the USAPA Nationals in men's open singles his 1st year of turning pro.

"Tyson is just as much a
Federer, Djokovic,
Nadal... He's one of those
guys of pickleball."

One of the top-ranked pickleball players in the world, Kyle first picked up a paddle in high school.
Since then he’s gone on to win 12 Major Professional titles and alongside 1044PRO, inspire a new generation of players.

Riley grew up in the middle of 6 siblings (5 sisters and 1 brother). He grew up and loved playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and
tennis. He especially loved basketball and tennis and like his older sister, Lindsey; played tennis at a Division I school in Seattle.
Riley was introduced to pickleball in the summer of 2017 by basketball referee and Selkirk player, Mark Cook. Because Riley and
Lindsey both played very high-level tennis, picking up a pickleball paddle and learning the strategy wasn’t too difficult.
The Newman’s entered into their first 5.0 tournament and won the mixed doubles bracket! Riley has been hooked on pickleball ever
since and absolutely loves all of the wonderful people he has meet because of it.

Riley Newman hit the floor
running in this auspiciously
named sport, and has been a
force to reckon with ever since.

We found pickleball in September 2017 in Allentown, PA, after evacuating a hurricane headed for Florida. Instantly we were
hooked! Never would we have dreamed that a mother and her 12 year daughter could team up and play Pro Pickleball. Every day
feels like a gift. We are so grateful to Paddletek, our family, friends, and to our supporters for making this possible.

We believe in sportsmanship first. The sport is the game, and we are all in it together. While we are extremely competitive, we also
want to support all the players as we strive to make the sport of pickleball the best game on Earth. We work every day to better
ourselves and to better the game.

We are a mother/daughter
team playing professional
pickleball and loving every
minute of it!
